Best Laid Plans is the seventeenth episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's third season which was first broadcast on February 1, 1993.
Will tries to dupe his girlfriend, Monique, into intimacy. Monique will not have sex with him unless they are married, so Will arranges for Jazz to impersonate a priest and performs a fake marriage ceremony. In the end Will has an attack of conscience and backs out when Monique gives him a pocketwatch heirloom that was given to each of her relatives on their wedding night. In anger, Monique punches Will and steals the Mercedes. The result of the scheme infuriates Phil to the point where instead of punishing Will outright, it takes him 3 years to think about what he's gonna do to him. To which he tells Will to spend worrying about it. After reading a book on Medieval Tortures, Phillip comes up with the perfect punishment.
