Lucky Charm is the sixteenth episode of the first season from the television sitcom on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which was originally aired from NBC on January 7, 1991. It was directed by Jeff Melman and written by Samm-Art Williams.
Due to a couple of coincidences, one of Philip's clients, Jamison, a very superstitious businessman, thinks Will is his good luck charm. He befriends Will, who is allowed to decide on some of his major decisions. One of these major decisions, an investment, proves to further his belief on Will's luck as he wins millions.
Phillip attempts to get Will out of his situation with Jamison, but he fires him instead. Phillip, Henry Firth and another lawyer visit Jamison to win his business back where it turns out the stock dropped in the investment. Jamison attempts to throw Will out of the office, viewing him as a curse but Phillip defends Will, telling off Jamison for his superstitious behavior and inadvertently revealing to be a Capricorn. Upon hearing this, Jamison agrees to rehire them.
At home, the family compliments Phillip for standing up to Jamison. It is also revealed that Uncle Phil is really an Aquarius (born January 30th) and lied to get Jamison back.
- The final scene of this episode is cut in syndication. In this scene, everyone is complimenting Philip for standing up to Jamison after the way he treated Will.
- Running Gag: Vivian saying negative things about Jamison.
- Running Gag: Jamison thinking Will is good luck.
- Will says he was born on July 3, 1973 and Carlton says he was born August 4, 1974. This doesn't fit the timeline because they both don't graduate high school until the end of Season 3.
