Will's mother tells Will that she's broken her engagement to Robert and eagerly awaits her son's graduation so they can return to Philadelphia together. A shocked Will is afraid to tell her that he wants to attend college in California and remain with his Bel-Air family and friends, and suffers a nightmarish fantasy of what it would be like still living with his mother when he's 72 years old.
The family comes together for a family reunion, where Vy reveals she is broken off her engagement to Robert and is eager for Will to graduate so that they can spend more time together. Will, who is typically happy to see his mother, becomes stressed with her overbearing nature and has a nightmare about living with her when he is an old man as she refuses to let him go out. Will eventually tells her that he wants to attend college in California and be with his Bel-Air family and friends but he promises to still visit her on the holidays. Though upset, Vy respects his wishes.
